The EPA released fuel-economy ratings for the all-new 2016 Honda HR-V. | January 20, 2015?| American Honda Motor Company, Inc.

The?EPA?released?fuel economy ratings?for the all-new?2016 Honda HR-V, a subcompact crossover that will arrive at?Honda dealerships?in the spring.
The highest-rated 2016 HR-V delivers 28 mpg in city driving and 35 mpg on the highway. It is a two-wheel-drive model equipped with a standard 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine linked to a continuously variable transmission.
The same HR-V equipped with a six-speed manual transmission delivers 25 mpg in city driving and 34 mpg on the highway.
The all-wheel-drive HR-V with a CVT delivers 27 mpg in city driving and 32 mpg on the highway.
The?Honda Fit-based HR-V shares the same 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine found in the?Honda Civic.
Key competitors to the HR-V include the?Chevrolet Trax,?Jeep Renegade?and?Mazda CX-3.
The HR-V is set to debut at a time when gas prices have been tumbling nationwide. The?AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report?on Tuesday pegged the average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline at $2.05 versus $3.28 a year ago.
Edmunds?says:?Car shoppers concerned about fuel economy will find the new HR-V at the top of its segment. But be aware that the EPA has not yet announced numbers for the 2016 Mazda CX-3 and 2015 Jeep Renegade.
