Xperi expands in-car entertainment in France with TF1 and BMW
Xperi has expanded its in-car entertainment offerings in France by integrating local video content into vehicles. The company’s DTS AutoStage platform, powered by TiVo, combines linear and on-demand content to create a unified entertainment experience.
While DTS AutoStage has recently enhanced its platform to include video services, it remains deeply rooted in audio broadcasting. The system aggregates global radio broadcast signals, delivering a hybrid radio experience that merges traditional broadcasting with internet-based content. This approach provides automakers with greater brand control while offering consumers access to a personalized entertainment ecosystem, including radio, music, podcasts, TV shows, movies and games.
BMW, an early adopter of the DTS AutoStage Video Service, has now integrated TF1+ into its in-car video platform. BMW drivers can access TF1+ content through the system, adding 15,000 hours of French-language programming to the in-car entertainment experience in the BMW X3.
This development follows BMW’s recent announcement of a partnership with Paramount+, allowing subscribers to access Paramount+ content through the DTS AutoStage Video Service in BMW and MINI infotainment systems.
