"On May 23, Guangdong Province's transportation industry, the promotion and application of new energy vehicles and safety supervision work was held in Shenzhen. The meeting revealed that the province will accelerate the promotion and application of new energy vehicles in the future. By 2020, the province will achieve a proportion of more than 75% of all buses by new energy buses, of which pure electric buses account for over 65% of the total. The cities of the Pearl River Delta will fully realize the electrification of buses by 2020.
Guangdong New Energy has exceeded 60,000 vehicles
Guangdong Province has achieved phased results in the promotion and application of new energy operation vehicles. As of the end of April, the province's new energy operating vehicles reached 61,000, accounting for about 15% of the country's total, ranking the forefront of the country; of which pure electric vehicles reached 56,000, accounting for 92% of the total number of new energy vehicles.
In 2017, new and updated buses in the province accounted for more than 95% of new energy vehicles. There are 36,000 new energy city buses in the province, accounting for 54% of the total number of public transport vehicles in the province, ranking second in the country.
At the same time, new energy buses have achieved regional, scale, and intensive development in the Pearl River Delta region. Shenzhen took the lead in realizing full-scale electrification of public transport, with an electrification rate of more than 95% for the Shanwei Bus and over 65% for Meizhou, Yangjiang, and Jieyang. At present, there are 14,000 new energy taxis in the province, and new energy taxis in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Shaoguan, Huizhou, and Chaozhou have been applied on a large scale.
Exploring and researching policies on new energy vehicles' high-speed toll discounts and other policies

In promoting new energy vehicles, Guangdong will speed up the construction of charging facilities and strive to form an intercity charging network system with the Pearl River Delta as its core and its main high-speed backbone before 2020. At the same time, it is necessary to find out the available resources and power supply conditions for the stocks, build charging facilities based on the existing passenger and freight stations, first and last bus stations, maintenance grounds, and other places, and promote the construction of charging facilities for enterprises and social capital.
In order to create conditions for the development of new energy vehicles, the competent transportation departments of various cities will actively coordinate the relevant departments to implement the policies of vehicle purchase tax, vehicle and vessel taxes, and price concessions for electricity use, and establish and improve operating mileage, actual energy consumption, and emission reduction effects. Based on the fund subsidy system, we will study and formulate the operation subsidy policy for new energy logistics delivery vehicles.
